          Who
would have guessed that a dog living on a school bus with a homeless
guy and his two dozen other Chow Chows would have landed in our home!
Clearly, finding each other was meant to be.  When we heard his story,
we didn't know what to expect but were assured he had a wonderful
disposition and got along well with other dogs.  Upon first
meeting, we were struck by how handsome he was:  big green eyes,
blue tongue and a mass of puffy black fur.  And he doesn't just walk
... he prances!  Who could resist!

          Voodoo
has fit in perfectly with the family which includes our Sheltie,
Cashew.  Although we were told Chows are little couch potatoes, this
one has lots of gas in his tank and loves nothing better than going
for walks and stalking squirrels.  He wishes he could shimmy up the
trees to get closer to them, but has realized that standing on his
back legs gazing into the treetops is as far as he will get.

          He
loves chewing on tennis balls and doing his "crazy eights" which
consist of flying like a madman around the pool, around the yard, up
onto the deck and back to start all over again.  This dog is
unbelieveably sweet and affectionate.  Obviously life on the bus and
in the shelter did him no harm.  I read a comment that Cesar Millan
made that homeless people have the best trained dogs and I honestly
haven't seen anything in Voodoo's behaviour to dispute that
observation!  However he managed, the homeless guy did a really
good job of caring for him.

          So we
now have the pleasure of Voodoo's companionship and affection.  All he
really wants is to be with us and have his head or tummy rubbed.  In
just one month he has adapted beautifully to his surroundings and new
routine.  Just a wonderful dog.  We're thrilled to be able to give him
a home and spoil him rotten because he deserves it.
