Skylar could not have settled in any better. We have had no problems
with Skylar at all. She likes to be by people and to be petted as much
as she can and if you don't pet her when she wants it she will pick up
your hand with her nose to let you know it's time. You can tell she
has had some training because she knows all the commands except for
heel and that's a work in progress.
Skylar has had her vet visits and she has not been thrilled with
those. I think the dogs and the smells remind her of going back to a
kennel and by her reaction does not want any part of that. Skylar is
really quite calm for her age, she does chase her tail and stalk
shadows but other than that very calm. She is also not a barker, she
will usually make one woof and then pick up a toy in her mouth as if
to stop herself from barking. We are not sure if she was trained by
the previous owners not to bark.
Skylar is a very kind and smart dog and I think all she really needed
was a full time family. Also she is great around babies and shows no
kind of aggression towards people at all. I guess I wouldn't call her
a watch dog as she loves everyone that walks in the door and that is
fine with us. Anyway she is a great part of the family.
