On Friday, October 12, 2007, Sadie the pup had
her life-saving heart operation, and from all indications, she has
done very well. The severe heart murmur from which she suffered
disappeared immediately upon correction during surgery.
She was discharged from the hospital the next
day, with necessary instructions and medications for her foster
family. She will be monitored for the next 10 days in her foster
home, at which time she will return to have her sutures removed.
In the interim, the SPCA is screening applicants to find a loving,
forever home for this special girl.
The SPCA of Western Quebec wishes to extend its
appreciation to all who donated towards Sadie's surgery, which could
not have been possible without the generosity and support provided by
the public. Thanks as well to the Alta Vista Animal
Hospital, and to the Ottawa Citizen.
