Well,
it's been almost 4 years since we adopted two cute little bundles from
the Aylmer SPCA, but it was the best thing we ever did.
They
have gone from being the cute, cuddly little angels with horns to
beautiful young adults and are having a very spoiled country life.
Bear now weighs in at 105 lbs and Panda is around 55 lbs.
When
we went to look at these two puppies, our plan was to only adopt one
dog; well, we noticed when we arrived that the female (Panda) was a
bit depressed because she no longer could see her brother (Bear).
We
ended up taking both dogs up to the play room to try and decide which
one to take home. Once up there, both dogs adopted us and we
just couldn't take one without the other.
These
two today are still inseparable. If Bear tries to wander off too
far, Panda would cry and howl to inform us her brother was going too
far in the back yard.
Now,
they also have the luxury of going to a cottage every weekend and at
first the lake was a bit intimidating to them, however now Bear tries
to catch the fish and Panda loves chasing frogs.
We are
very happy with the two of them. Between the two dogs and two
cats that share our home, life is always full of surprises!
Update September '20
It
is coming up to 12 years since we adopted these two beautiful puppies
(adopted, January 2009). Panda and Bear are still going strong and two
years ago we rescued another little girl (Mocha) who urgently needed a
home. Panda and Bear welcomed her with a few licks and sniffs. All 3
fur babies are doing great. Here are some pictures.
