I'd say he is settling in nicely! We are going to our vet tomorrow
for a check up and to have the stitches removed. I'll report on how
that goes. He met our son, daughter-in-law and their English Bull
terrier and that went really, really well.
Update July '15
I'm settling in here in Corbeil. Got my stitches out Friday and that
was ok. I'm such a star I'm changing my name. Instead of Zeus you can
call me Olaf now. I am more like a hyper snowman than a Greek god. All
is good. If only I had a toy to chew it would be perfect.
Update August '15
The pup continues to amaze. We have him away on his first camping
trip. He's taken to motorhome life like a duck to water!
Oh it is a natural state for him! Same motorhome, same husband but
with a
67ish pound appendage. It'll work!

I
thought I would let you know what I've been up to. They say I'm
growing like a bad weed. I'm about 53 pounds now.
It got cold and I helped light the fireplace.
They have a nice house here but they have another house on wheels and
we go travelling. They call it camping and say I'm good at it.
We went to a place where there was a big bathtub out in the middle of
nowhere. They called it
Lake Huron.
I wasn't a fan. It was cold. Not like our warm tub at home. I do like
that.
I got bit on the lip by a wasp and got a fat lip. Imagine on my lips
lol. But I'm ok now. I went bobbing for ice cubes in a big bowl and it
took the swelling down. And the Benadryl hardly slowed me down at all.
All
the sun and walking tuckers me right out. I sleep in the bed with my
people and on my big pillow and on the special lawn chairs.
I'm being a good boy and like it here. I hope all of my friends at the
SPCA are doing well too.
Love
Olaf
Update December '15
Hi
to all my friends. It's me - Olaf! Things are going really well up
here. But it's kind of weird. There is a tree in the family room!! I
look at it but haven't touched it. Yet.
You guys never told me about clothes. I love them and never ever go
anywhere without a shirt. I have a bunch and we have found a lady to
knit me more. If they forget to put my shirt on when I get out of bed
I carry it around till they help. Hard to put on a shirt with no
thumbs! I have coats too, one for rain and one for cold, if it gets
cold. They tell me it's going to get cold here but we'll see.
A
guy came in a red suit. I liked him. He brought treats.
We have someone new. Her name is Bristol and I think I like her. She's
really really small. I sure hate it when she cries though. I think
we'll get on really well when she grows up. She's my grand baby and
lives with my buddy Odie. They visit lots. I love Odie.
I'm really happy here and try to be good most of the time. They tell
me I'm a counter surfer! That sounds like fun eh? Anyway I wanted to
wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks for all you do.

Hi Carole and
all my friends! It's me - Olaf!
Yesterday was my birthday and I had CAKE!! I never get to eat what my
people eat but just this once I did. Boy, was it good. Right to the
last crumb. Even when my hat fell over my eyes. So now I am 1. Mom
tells me in 6 more months I won't be a puppy anymore and will be
expected to behave. Lol. She's a funny one.
We have had lots of snow. It finally got here after Christmas and now
it's everywhere. Dad keeps some of my trails open but the snow is so
high I can hardly see over the edges. Sometimes I stand up on 2 legs
like people to spy. I hope the green grass comes back soon. Bet you do
too! I know you've had lots too.
Bristol the grandbaby still isn't allowed to play with me but we're
getting closer. Someday though we'll have fun.
I'm
getting soooo big. I hardly fit on laps now but I will still always be
a lap dog. I'm a boxer after all.
I'd better go now. It's time to watch the school buses go by and that
cute little husky across the street is out on her porch.
Take care.
Love Olaf
Update July '17
Hi to Carole
and all my friends at SPCAWQ! It's hard to believe but today is my
second Gotcha Day. Two years ago I left you to come here. I've had
another birthday and now I'm 2.
I keep very,
very busy and work really hard around here. I keep all of the ducks,
deer, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, birds and any other critters out of
my yard.
I like to
change my look from time to time just because plain white can be
boring. I still love my clothes though especially when it rains or
when it gets cool.
My grand baby
Bristol just keeps getting bigger. I play with her and help babysit
when she and Odie visit.
Speaking of
Odie she was really really sick over the winter and had to have
surgery
twice. She stayed with us while she was recovering and I kept her
company. She's all better now and isn't going to eat any more plastic
toys.
We still go
camping and I still like it. I try to be brave but I prefer to stick
close to my dad. I'm not big on scary noises, dark nights, and a lot
of other things.
I hope you
are having a wonderful summer. I read Facebook every day and see how
busy you all are finding homes for all the dogs and cats. Thanks for
all you do.
Love
Olaf
Update December '17
Hi to Carole
and all my friends at SPCAWQ.
I've been a
good boy most of the time this year. I'm almost all grown up and I'm a
big boy. In fact I'm on a diet since I got a bit too big but I think
90 pounds is a nice round number. Don't you??
We spent lots
of time in our house on wheels this summer. Camping is one of my
favourite things. Lots to see and hear as long as you have a friend
close by.
My friend
Odie and my grandbaby Bristol still visit lots. I love to help take
care of Bristol and I think she likes me a lot too. B loves to camp
too and we make a tent right in the family room. I'm good at sharing
with her too.
So here's
wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. All the best
for a wonderful holiday season to you all and thanks for all you do
for all the animals. Got to go - I'm waiting for Santa!

Update July '18
Hi
to all of my friends at SPCAWQ. While I'm happy to be celebrating my
third "gotcha day" I'm so sad about the fire. The story was on our tv
and it almost broke my heart.
I've
had another great year. My grand baby Bristol is having a birthday
soon and then we'll both be 3. I love when she comes to play with me.
Her
pup Odie is still plodding along. We don't know how old Odie is but
she's an old lady. I play with her too but I'm gentle.
We
still camp in our little house on wheels and I still love it. Odie's
family has a house on wheels too and sometimes we go camping all
together. Now that's really, really fun.
My
Dad especially loves me and follows me everywhere. Mom says we're
joined at the hip.
Thanks
for all you do for the animals like me who need a second chance. Good
luck with your fundraising and I hope you get a lovely new building
soon.
Olaf
Update March '19
Today was my birthday! Can you imagine that I'm 4 already?
My
grandbaby Bristol and her pup Odie came to my party of course. Bristol
is almost the same age as me - she'll be 4 in September.
I'm
still being a good boy. Well, mostly anyway. It's a good thing I'm
such a big guy - otherwise all this snow would be over my head and I'd
be invisible. I hope you are all healthy and happy.
Update July '19
The
fourth anniversary of my “gotcha date” was last week. We were away in
our house on wheels so I couldn’t email you until now.
I’m
still big. And a bit bad. Healthy and happy. I still spend lots of
time with my grandbaby Bristol and guess what? We’re going to have
another one in the fall. Sheesh. One tuckers me out. Kids are a lot of
work.
Bristol's pup, Odie. is still chugging along but she is really old
now. We were swimming. She is not a fan but I like it.
Anyway I wanted to tell you all that I am fine and very spoiled and
loved.
Update December '19
It’s
hard to believe another year has passed. We’ve been busy as usual. We
even got another baby! Now I have two grand babies.
I’ve
been good. Or as good as a bouncy boxer boy can be. But I try.
We
travelled a lot in our house on wheels and had a lot of fun this
summer. I love hiking and walking in the campgrounds.
On a
very, very sad note my buddy Odie went over the rainbow bridge this
fall so now I’ve got to look after her “kids” all by myself. I miss
her. She was a good doggie who came from a rescue in Ottawa many years
ago.
I
hope all of you and all of the animals have a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year.
Olaf
Update July '20
It
is hard to believe but it has been 5 years since I left the SPCAWQ. I
was a lot smaller then. I wonder if you would recognize me? This was
taken on my first day here.
It
has been a quiet year since this virus thing came around. We have
mainly been staying home and staying healthy. Do not forget to wear
your mask and wash your hands!
My
kid moved to Brockville so I do not see them as often and I sure miss
them a lot. We did see them a few weeks back so that was very nice and
we had a lot of fun. They FaceTime us a lot and we talk on the phone
often.
I hope you have a great summer. Thanks for all you do for the pups and
kitties.
