Nuka

I just wanted to touch base and let you know how Inuki is doing.  He's in Victoria with us and loving his daily walks and swims in the ocean.  I run with him as much as I can and he spends tons of time outside.  He's amazing with ALL other animals and loves to play with every dog he sees.  He's getting much better with male strangers, and is pretty relaxed with any woman that he meets.  Especially French ones!  It's funny - if he hears girls talking French he automatically gets excited ... remembering his time in Aylmer.

He's doing great and a wonderful companion and a gentle, good-natured and amazing partner.  Hope you guys are well and enjoying the summer.

Update November '20

I just wanted to connect with you and let you know how one of your animals is doing...several years after we adopted. My wife and I adopted this guy in 2013 when we lived in Ottawa.  We moved soon after that to Victoria, and now live in Tofino, BC. When we first got Inuki (we changed his name to Nuka....long story) he was very afraid of men and strangers; somewhat less if they were walking other dogs. He was fond of ladies, especially French ones, as I think he got to know many of them at the SPCA in Quebec. After about 2 years he let other men touch him.  A year later...even a couple could touch his face.  The next year....he would allow pets from a few more people. It took awhile, but he's very comfortable with most people now, and is a warm, gentle and loving companion for us and our close friends.  He is an amazing dog.  He runs when we mountain bike.  He's on the beach every day. He's a few years older now, but still full of energy. Everyone asks if he's a puppy still. We have a 5 year old daughter and they are very close. Nuka is happy and healthy and we are so lucky to have found him that day in Gatineau.

Thanks for all that you do and for giving these beautiful creatures such wonderful opportunities. And thanks for connecting us to your community through these animals.

All the best to you and your teams!
