My
wife and I adopted Mia Monday evening...  Wow.  What a wonderful,
          energetic girl!

She was a real sport for the ride back.  Well, I think she was already
pretty tired, but still.  She lay down next to me while my wife Fany
          drove.

I was amazed to find out how well she responds to commands.  She sits,
stays, waits to be let out to do her business, even high-fives!  I'll
have to make a little clip of that...

She was really tired, and I let her up on the couch so she could crash
          within petting distance.

Of course, she can't be on the couch all the time.  In fact, she
pretty much loves her doggy pillow.  Also, one picture reminds me that
we'll have to deal with a few loose things in the house, because the
          girl loves to chew.

Mia also loves, loves the snow.  I know she'll be very disappointed to
see it go! ...and so will I, because taking her out to play in the
yard a bit after a walk gets all that mud cleaned off of her!

Mia
has her first appointment with the vet next Monday, and we'll both be
going to obedience school starting mid-April - more for me than for
          her, I think.
          Lots
of changes for everyone in the house - my wife Fany, Mia and myself -
but we're all getting along so very, very well.

For the moment, Mia is lucky to have my wife stay home during the day
with her - although she does get to spend a couple of hours in her
crate when she goes out for errands, she has company pretty much all
day.  I hope she'll adapt well when she goes back to work at the
          beginning of April.

The first 3 days are almost over -- we'll see what Mia has in store
for us for the next three weeks..!

If you want, I'll keep you updated on Mia's progress :)

Thank you to everyone at the shelter for your awesome work - thanks to
you, Mia has another shot at her 'happily ever after'!
