Life
with my fur children is slowly but surely getting better. We've
noticed that our Lab only goes after Malcolm when I give Malcolm a bit
of attention and laugh while I talk to him; my conclusion is that Axle
(lab) is just plain jealous, rightly so. We don't scold him for
scaring Malcolm; it would only makes things harder for him to
comprehend that Malcolm
looks, smells and acts differently. My Yorkie is fascinated with
Malcolm. She has no idea what to make of him and only growls after him
if Axle gets up quickly and barks at Malcolm; she reacts in the same
way her big brother does, obviously. Malcolm has not reacted in a
vicious way either; he puffs up and hisses and retrieves his quarters
in the basement. He has been coming up to say hello a whole lot more
now. Axle just looks at him with disinterest (until I play/talk to his
new sibling).
I'm
attaching 2 pictures I took this afternoon; he looks like he loves his
new cat tree, doesn't he? I'm spoiling him, I know, but I haven't had
the pleasure to meet him during his (and my) younger years. I figure
he deserves to have a King Cat's life now. It took me a long time to
decide to adopt a cat once again. I looked periodically at your site
and the Gatineau one also. I saw him online; dragged my daughter with
me and went to meet him; feline love at 1st sight. I've gone through
horrible times health wise for a long while and to this day need to
lay down often. He hasn't joined me for a nap yet, but I have a good
feeling he will at some point. He has the ability to take a lot of my
stress away; he reminds me that not everyone has to like me but I
should concentrate more on the ones that do, like he does around the
house. I will send pictures of big ol' Malcolm periodically. I wish
for you all nothing but the best; that your deepest wishes come true.
You do amazing work. Thank you again!
