Lulu

It's been about 3 months since we adopted Lulu!  We love her so much, she's a great addition to our family!  Lulu is so happy, has put on weight, her coat is soft and she doesn't shed much at all!

Her "sister" Greta is her best friend, she wags her little nub whenever Greta is with her!  Greta and Lulu spend all of their time together ... they walk, eat, sleep and play.  When we leave in the car, they run to the window to say good-bye; when we come home they're in the window again!

Lulu started to play ball after 3 days with us, it's her favourite game.  Lulu would run all day after her ball!  She also has a variety of stuffed toys that she loves to squeak!  She loves her walks and now is allowed off leash to run with Greta.

Lulu is so affectionate ... she loves to cuddle and will hop into my lap to sit or sleep!  Lulu has gained a lot of confidence in 3 months ... she once was a quiet dog that didn't bark; well, now she is quite a guard dog!!  She loves her new family!

Thank you for bringing us together with our Lulu Belle!!  Lulu is happy that her baby JoJo had her heart operation and now hopes JoJo finds a good home.

Update September '19

Lulu is doing great! She’ll be 12 years old in November, hard to believe! She’s living her best life in Stittsville. She walks for an hour in the morning and we usually meet up with a couple of dog pals, they enjoy running around together. She has another walk in the afternoon and a small one in the evening! She’s extremely active but I do see her starting to slow down, sleeping a lot more in the afternoon. Her favourite activity is ball, loves to play fetch and jump for the ball. Of course her most favourite thing is being with me, she’s a Velcro girl for sure!

Lulu has Addison’s disease which is quite serious but she’s very well controlled on monthly injections and daily meds. She’s a sweet girl that has come a long way in the 10 years we’ve had her, she’s still nervous of strangers. She’s extremely spoiled.

Our daughter Sarah adopted Timmie not long after we adopted Lulu, Timmie spends a lot of time here with us, Lulu and him are pals.

Update January '20

I hope you and everyone else at the shelter (especially all the animals) had a great Christmas! I’ve been seeing all the adoptions and it looks like a lot of animals had homes! Lulu is good, she had a great Christmas, lots of walks, treats and family. She loves to open presents even if they’re not for her! I don’t think I mentioned before that she’s almost totally deaf, it provides a challenge but we manage. Wishing everyone a Happy 2020 and hoping for lots more success stories.
