I just wanted to let you know how Kumari (formally known as King) is doing. I have no idea when we he came to live with us, it seems as though he's always been here, a perfect fit from the beginning. He has quickly settled into his new family with his doggy sisters, cats, goats, chickens, horses and K-9 visitors. There's always something going on here and I'm pretty sure he thinks he's in doggy heaven! He loves the country life, with 17 acres to run on, daily hikes, dogs to play with and adores helping me with barn chores.
He's not sure about the river, seems convinced that it's not safe; he stares at his sister while she's swimming in disapproval. He's very cat-like and delicate, Kumari hates the cold, doesn't like getting wet and would live inside our fireplace if we gave him the chance, lol; he's not what most people associate with Dobes (although most of them are just big, gentle, active sucks).
He's an amazing boy, grown up both mentally and physically, very willing to learn, polite, goofy and playful, everything you could ask for, and everyone who meets him loves him. He's becoming quite the mascot for his breed. Of course, like all newly adopted dogs there were some kinks we had to work out, and there will be some more to come as he goes through adolescence, but he is eager to please and is quickly catching on.
He loves his walks and training session, his O.B. is coming along
well, walks politely on leash and is crate trained; now we have to
figure out what type of work he would like to do. Oh, he no
longer has those weird saucer eyes; they are back to normal Dobe
almonds.
