Jack

Jack dog has been a truly joy filled addition to our household.  He loves his walks and outdoor adventures.  He has already been on a couple of car trips, to the Collingwood area and Toronto.  He loved a canoe trip into Algonquin Park and will have the opportunity to roam freely on an Island in Lake Nipigon near Thunder Bay when we go to stay there for a visit at a cabin of a friend.

Jack has a very gentle, loyal, loving nature.  He makes friends instantly with children, women and other dogs.  He is a bit wary around some men but instantly fell in love with my adult son.

We have been working through his separation anxiety which greatly improved
when we stopped using a crate.  He has had to learn what he can and cannot eat i.e. he can have boiled soup bones whenever he wants which he loves to chew on or for hours.  We would really like him  to stop eating his leashes and collars and our birkenstock sandals and various other such items.  He has come a long way but the occasional relapse still occurs.

The Jack anecdotes abound.  Here is a sample:  We visited the McMichael Conservation in Klienberg Ontarie with Jack.  He felt compelled to protect me from three bronze life sized husky dogs in the garden.  His vigilance attracted quite a gathering of folks who praised him abundantly for his bravery.

Update July '14

Jack is our treasure boy.  He has endeared himself to all he encounters.  His separation anxiety is all but gone.  An ample supply of boiled soup bones satisfies his need to chew and bury.  He confines those practises to that supply without household concern that he will be tantilized by anything else.  He is a great traveller - regardless of mode of transport.  Jack will have a plane trip to northern BC and back in December/January when he accompanies MommyPat to her daughters and a 'cousin' companion shepherd for winter fun and frolic.

Jack is a dog with a sense of humour eliciting many bouts of laughter every day.

His dilemma - to herd or to hunt - of his corgi-husky makeup - is a constant source of amusement, entertainment and high energy output when outside. When inside he is a charm, always nearby, affectionate and caring.

He is a true best friend.

The tail wags as the tale continues …

Pat - Jack's bud

Update May '16

It will be hard to choose 1/10000 to illustrate the beauty of the sweet boy. He is all over my Public FB page Patricia Filteau. He has been helping me promote my novel, Vantage Point. Clearly maintaining a Vantage Point is a preferred activity in his life.
