Gus

Tuesday, March 31st

Good morning,

I wanted to let you all know about Devon, the boxer/labrador Tony & I took home three weeks ago.  His new name is now Gus.

We sure lucked out!  Gus is very cuddly, and loves to please.  He's so curious too.

At times, things get a little hairy around here because of our old dog who doesn't really want to play.  However, slowly they're both getting the hang of it all.  The four of us are learning how to get along with each other.

Here are some pictures of Gus, along with one of Wilkie.

Good evening.  More news on Gus, who is now six months old.

Last week, Gus and Wilkie -- the old guy -- after many kerfuffles and altercations, started playing.  Gus has figured out how to play, keeping in mind that Wilkie hasn't the energy to throw himself into the game anymore.  However rough another dog wants to play, Gus senses.  Adaptability is Gus' strength.  He wants to get along with both people and dogs, and so is most congenial.

What a relief for us that Gus and Wilkie are sorting everything out between them.  A constant struggle, as anyone who lives in this social world knows.

Update September ‘09 ...

PUPPY + LIGHT METER

Puppies and light meters don’t mix, I found out a few days ago.

I’d come home from a shoot and, lazy, left my Minolta Flashmeter laying on top of a bag on the floor.

Went out for dinner, came back.  Gus, our ten month old, sixty pound, boxer/pit bull puppy, had found it, taken it out of its case and turned it to toast.
