We adopted Reed (we call him Deedee) into our family from Aylmer SPCA in November 2015. He was 16 months old stray and very scared of people. Within few days we knew we had a challenge ahead of us as our boy was vigorously protecting our home and playing too ruff with our kids. We enrolled him in obedience classes and gave him all the love he was missing. Today, Reed is the best dog someone could wish for. He loves walks in the woods, swimming and playing with other dogs. Reed doesn’t leave our backyard even when the gate is left open and walks off-leash all the time. He goes with us on vacations and he is happy as long as he is with us. Even after 2.5 years our three teenagers are happiest when, after school, they are greeted with Reed’s wet kisses and wiggling tail. Thank you SPCA for giving him a second chance and for choosing us to be his forever family.
