A quick note to say that Dante is fine and progressing well. We love
him and he seems to be happy with us.
He and Heidi get along very well and really enjoy the pack
togetherness. Dante defers to her if any differences arise which is
not often.
We think of you and your colleagues often, appreciating all that you
did to find a home for Dante and so glad that you did.
We notice you have Ryan there also. If you need to refer anyone to us
for Information on adjusting to having a Siberian Husky mix, please
feel free to do so. They are very intelligent dogs and, therefore,
require more interaction and stimulation than the average dog. Take
care for now!
Kind regards,
Diane
Update September '17
Dante is
doing very well, so I am attaching some pictures for you to see. His
best friend, Heidi, passed away in October of last year, and he seemed
quite lost for a while and another little companion I had, a
female American Blue, also passed away from chronic kidney failure in
February this year, so Dante had another loss to deal with. We missed
her since she was such a sweet companion, so I adopted another grey -
this time a male. Dante has not accepted his presence as readily, but
Leo (the new kitten) does want to hang out with Dante, but I am
keeping a watch on that. Dante is quite territorial about his bones,
treats and food.
Wherever we
go with Dante, he gets a lot of attention since he is so friendly
and striking in appearance. His health has been remarkably well - he
had a few minor hot spots and that is about it. He has developed a
fear of thunder and lightning so we have a few nights we have to get
up and keep him company, but then once that eases, he goes back into
his crate at night. On that front, he is amazingly content. During
the day, he is either here with us
or at a kennel close by while I am working. I think he is less lonely
now that we have the new kitten who is really into everything and he
has our other cat, Buttercup, who he seems close to ... since he seems
protective of her now that we have another kitten (Leo) now 7 months,
adopted in April at 4 months.
