Here is a
photo of Chico (the Black Lab mix) adopted at SPCA Western Quebec (he
was called "Charlie" at the time) in November 2008. We renamed him
Chico. He is now about 7 years old. In this photo, Chico is watching
over
our German Shepherd pure-bred puppy Fritz (July 21, 2009-August 5,
2014).
This photo was taken in October 2009 when Fritz was two months old. We
all
miss Fritz, gone way too soon.
Chico (in the
foreground, adopted in Nov 2008 SPCA West Quebec) and Alex (in
background) adopted August 2014 from SPCA WQ.

Update
November '14
As promised here are a few shots of Alex and our daughter. I took
them in a spur of moment. When we first brought him home (end of Aug)
he just wanted to stay in the laundry room and was ++ nervous.
He has come a long way. We still have a lot of work ahead of us but I
just wanted you all to know that you made the right decision in
letting us adopt Alex. He has started to trust us and is becoming the
loving boy we all knew he would be. Thanks again for never
giving up on him or all the other "special/challenging pets".
Update May '20
Our
three dogs were adopted from SPCA Western Quebec. Tanner (German
Shepherd) was renamed Baron von Fritzenstein... he is a much loved
family member...adopted 2016 from SPCA WQ Chico (black lab cross,
adopted 2008) lying on dog cushion and Alex adopted 2014 in the back
of our van (centre) with Chico and Baron.
ALEX
has high anxiety around people who are strangers, but with love and
patience he has adapted to our family. He loves other dogs more than
people, while Baron (Tanner) loves people more than other dogs. BARON
would be the worst guard dog ever.
Chico is 12 to 13 years old and ailing.
We suspect he is living his last months. We call him our old geezer.
He is gentle, loves food and lives to eat. Since mid March I am
working at home and the boyz have been enjoying more daily walks. I am
happy to hear you are back in operation after the terrible tragedy.
Thanks to you and staff for helping dogs and cats find a forever home.
