Just wanted to let you know that Charlie is settling in very nicely with us.  We visited the veterinarian last week, as he had a cough, but all is well.  He will be starting obedience classes shortly, and is spending many weekdays at "doggie daycare" while our house undergoes some renovations. 

He has found all the sunny spots in the house, so that he can bask in the sunshine when he sleeps, and he's figured out the best spots for viewing squirrels and bunnies.  At night, he sleeps at the foot of the bed, and loves to give kisses in the morning. 

He already has us well-trained, and we're out walking many times each day.  He is not as energetic or as loud as we'd initially thought he might be - but he will certainly notify us (by barking) when he's really happy to see us, or if someone's knocking on the door.
