My
name is Sarah and my partner Andrew and I adopted Buddy from the SPCA
of Western Quebec almost 10 months ago! Since adopting him, Buddy has
become an integral part of our family and we couldn't imagine life
without him. He is sweet and gentle, and is immediately popular with
everyone he meets (humans and dogs alike).
Since he came to live with us Buddy has undergone some profound
changes of scenery. Shortly after adopting him we discovered that we
would be moving to Edmonton, Alberta for my new job. Without
hesitation we knew Buddy (and our 16 year old cat) would be making the
3400km journey with us. As long time lovers of the mountains, we were
so excited that we would be able to bring Buddy west with us and see
the places we love the most.
We
moved to Edmonton in January and Buddy handled the move like a
champion - he is loving his life out west and especially loves
frequent trips with us to the mountains to hike and explore. I'm not
sure if you are still updating your Happy Tails page on your website,
but I thought I'd share how happy Buddy is in his new home.
Update April '20
Buddy was adopted when he was 5 years old in October 2017 and is now
living his best adventure life out West. Shortly after being adopted
my partner and I learned that we would be moving to Alberta for a new
job. With his obvious LOVE of adventures we knew Buddy would make a
great Alberta dog and he sat patiently in the back of the car for the
3,400km journey to our new home. We've now had him for almost 3 years
and he is the absolute best thing to have come into our lives. We've
spent hundreds
of
days hiking in the mountains, playing in the Bow River and camping
with him. When he's not out adventuring he is a big cuddle bug and
will plop down wherever we are to keep an eye on things. He also now
lives with our rescued cat named Bear who lives her adventure life
vicariously through Buddy (cleaning him up when he comes inside with
muddy legs)! Buddy is now almost 8.5 and still just as energetic as
the day we adopted him. He is the sweetest and most gentle dog and we
can't imagine our lives without him. We are so grateful to the SPCAWQ
for all their hard work finding dogs like Buddy a new lease on life.
