Kelly) that we adopted December 26th 2011.  Bella was four months old when
we adopted her and she has integrated very well into our family (well,
the cat's still not too thrilled).  She turned one on August 14th
and is now about 25kg (57lbs) and in great health.

Bella is active, friendly, attentive and just a joy to
be around.  She enjoys her walks and we get to the dog park at
least once, sometimes twice a day for some off-leash fun.
Although still playing shy with new introductions, she warms up to
both people that we've approved of and other animals very quickly.

When we first adopted her, the thought was she was
Shepherd/Rottweiler mix.  We now think that she is a
Shepherd/Husky mix (she originated from Iqaluit) due to some specific
traits.  From the front, she is all Shepherd but from the back,
she is more Husky.  As well, Bella loves the winter and will (on
her own) dig out a pit and curl up in the snow to sleep.  The hot
weather is not her favourite time of year.  Her tail is very
Husky-like and the white hair on her rump and underbelly is also
          showing some Husky-like qualities.

My family and I want to thank all the staff and volunteers at the
SPCA; you guys were just great during the adoption process and gave us
          lots of valuable information.
